Indigenous Health - Send an Ecard

Send this message (see below for how to do this):

Dear Mr Swan/Ms Macklin

I am deeply concerned about the state of Indigenous health in this country. Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islanders die on average 17 years younger than other Australians.

The Labor party has committed to closing the gap in Indigenous life expectancy through effective, costed and timetabled action.

I urge you to demonstrate that commitment in the 2008/2009 Budget through increasing annual Indigenous health funding by $460 million (the amount requested in the Close the Gap campaign) to enable equal access to health services.

This is an issue of utmost importance to me and would be a tangible way for the Government to act in the spirit of the apology to the Stolen Generations.

Yours sincerely

(Your name)
