The
postcard campaign continues in the marginal seats of Lilley,
Moreton,
Petrie, Hinkler and Herbert. Postcards are being sent
to the ALP and Coalition candidates in these electorates. Click

The
overall objective of this campaign is to demonstrate
that issues
of affordable housing, poverty, access to adequate
health care and income, and job security are issues
of concern to
people and that the idea of a "fair go" for
all must not be allowed to fade away and be replaced
with a sharply
divided and polarised society. The SAO thanks all
who have been involved with us so far - parishes
and religious
communities
- in this campaign and we invite more and more
people to join with us in this action of solidarity.
Visits
to the candidates will soon be happening. Along the way a
media campaign will also be initiated to make the issues
more visible in the wider community.
On 16
July 2001 Brother Jim D'Arcy cfc started work on a short-term
basis with the Social Action Office to assist with the campaign.
Jim is doing outreach work in Hinkler and Petrie.
